Arbor Day

Planting saplings

Join us on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. - noon for a community tree planting, celebrating Arbor Day. Trees play an important role in keeping us healthy! Trees can:

  • improve air quality,
  • reduce the impacts of climate change and keep our city cooler,
  • conserve biodiversity,
  • provide habitat for wildlife, and
  • improve our physical and mental health!

This year's tree planting will take place off Tamarack Boulevard at the top of Burgess Park (enter via the accessway next to 181 Tamarack Blvd.).

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear (layers, closed toe shoes). If possible, please bring a shovel, bucket to move mulch and gardening gloves. Limited supplies will be available for those who can't bring their own.

Volunteers can take a tree to plant at their home, as well as enjoy a BBQ at noon.
