Garbage and Recycling

Oxford County is responsible for the waste management program in Woodstock. The following services are available for property owners in Woodstock.

Garbage

The City of Woodstock offers curbside garbage collection to homes throughout the city on a rotating six-day collection schedule. The city is divided into different zones that determine your collection day.

Recycling

Beginning in January 2026 blue box recycling collection will move to a new province-wide recycling program operated by Circular Materials. With this change, recycling is moving from every other week to every collection day using the new six-day cycle.

Organics

Woodstock residents have organic waste collection with their garbage collection. The green bin program collects food scraps and other biodegradable materials, reducing the amount of garbage sent to the landfill and supporting environmental sustainability in our communities.

EnviroDepot

For your convenience, the City of Woodstock also operates the EnviroDepot, located at 944 James St. Woodstock residents can use the EnviroDepot to drop off large items, household hazardous waste and construction materials.

Yard Waste Depot

To help residents with outdoor yard clean up, the City also operates a Yard Waste Depot at 944 James St. Yard waste, brush and woodchips are collected into three piles within the depot which are then used for compost or turned into woodchips.

Seasonal Collection

We also offer special curbside collection weeks for, Large (bulk) items, Brush, Loose leaves, Christmas Trees

Collection Schedule

Wasteline is a helpful resource to find your zone, set up collection reminders, look up what goes where. Use the web version below or download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

We have also developed "at a glance" schedules for each zone for those who prefer a paper reminder. Once you determine your zone, you can download the 2026 schedule below and stick on your fridge, garage door or save on your phone. These quick reference sheets are approximately 11 cm x 14 cm (4.25" x 5.5").

Printed calendars will be delivered to homes and businesses via Canada post starting Friday, Jan. 30.
