Market Centre Theatre Rentals

The Market Centre Theatre is located in Downtown Woodstock at 22 Reeve St., next to the Woodstock Museum NHS. The upper level houses the auditorium and is perfect for all your theatrical needs. The lower level of the Market Centre Theatre is ideal for a variety of business and casual functions, like meetings, receptions, luncheons, exhibits, displays, and more!

Booking

August 2026 booking is open now! All Saturdays are currently fully booked.

Make a tentative booking to secure your chosen date(s) by completing and submitting a Facility Rental Application. Date(s) will be held for 10 business days in which time you must sign the agreement and leave a deposit to secure your booking.

No applications will be accepted less than 4 weeks prior to the requested rental date.

Lounge

  • $175 for 3 hours, extra hours billed at $40/hour + HST

Additional Information

Use of the kitchen includes access to the refrigerator (no freezer), counters, sinks, and serving windows.

Catering, concession and alcohol services are not provided with the rental of the facility; Renters must provide their own catering, concession and/or alcohol services. No cooking is permitted in the Kitchen space. All food and drinks must be pre-prepared.

Renters may serve alcohol during their rentals and must take full responsibility for arranging these services.

The serving of alcohol must be approved by the Facility Rentals & Special Events Coordinator during the application process, and renters must obtain a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and comply with the City of Woodstock's Municipal Alcohol Policy.

In compliance with Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation Procedures, a minimum of 4 ushers are required for use of the Auditorium (Full Facility Rental) during events open to the public.
Ushers must be at least 16 years of age, and at least 2 of them must be 18 years of age or older.

Renters can either provide their own ushers or hire them for a minimum of 3 hours at a rate of $17.60/hour (per usher).

A certificate of insurance for $2,000,000.00 (two million), preferably with the City as a named insured, is required.

Insurance can be purchased through the City of Woodstock during the rental application process. Current rates are as follows-

  • Meetings: $2.88/hour or $11.53/day
  • Events (no alcohol): $57.63 - $115.26
  • Events (with alcohol): $282.50 - $367.25
  • Special Events (no alcohol): $28.25
  • Special Events (with alcohol): $288.15
  • Children's Birthday Parties: $2.49/hour

Event promoters may bring advertising specific to the rental use for display at The Market Centre Theatre 30 days in advance of the rental date.

All promotional and advertising materials and messages promoting the use of The Market Centre must incorporate the name “The Market Centre” and / or The Market Centre logo.

Full Facility rentals can take advantage of our special hangers, hanging panels, and an easel to display promotional materials, posters, artwork, etc., in the gallery located just outside the auditorium.

Free 2-hour street parking is available downtown. Free 2-hour or pay-and-display parking is also available at several municipal lots downtown.

Technical Services

The City of Woodstock has a management agreement with Theatre Woodstock to manage and operate all technical support, including lighting, audio, visual equipment and Box Office.

The Renter must assume responsibility for costs relating to damage of equipment resulting from use, abuse or neglect by non-Theatre Woodstock personnel.

  • $45 per use

Wireless Handheld Microphones (3), Wired Handheld Microphones (4), Wireless Lapel Microphones (4)

  • $5 each per use.

Projector or TV

  • $90 per use

Digital (Roland EP-85)

  • $50 per use. Includes stand and bench.

Level 1 Technician (operates sound and house lights only)

  • $25/hour.

Level 2 Technician (required for lighting/gel changes and operation)

  • $30/hour.

Package #1: Full Service.

  • Includes up to 249 tickets per show, general or assigned seating.
  • Access to Interac, Visa, M/C system (2.75% service charge). Cheques are not accepted.
  • Three 3-hour sales periods in the seven days prior to first show.
  • One 1-hour sales period before each show.
  • Ticket availability during other scheduled box office hours.
  • The cost for a single performance is $300 plus 6% of gross ticket sales. Each additional performance is $75 plus 6% of gross ticket sales.

Package #2: Tickets only.

  • Includes up to 249 tickets per show, general or assigned seating. Does not include box office staff or facilities. The cost for each performance is $75.
