Volunteers help to make our community a vibrant and welcoming place to live. The City of Woodstock offers a variety of opportunities for youth, adults and seniors to get involved throughout the year.

Education Volunteer

If you are interested in applying for a volunteer opportunity, the following information is required with your application:

  • Areas of Interest
    • Choose from a drop-down menu of available positions.
  • Contact information
  • Resume/CV (Max. 3 pages)*
    • Be sure to include your education, educational institution and experience, and how it relates to the area of interest, hobbies and other interests.
  • Cover letter (Max. 1 page)*

Apply to be an Education volunteer

Local boards and advisory committees provide input and make recommendations to Council on a variety of topics and issues such as accessibility, recreation and culture, the environment and other important municipal decisions. Members typically include citizen volunteers, municipal staff and City Councillors.

Youth ages 13 and older are invited to volunteer for the City of Woodstock’s recreation and culture summer camps. This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable leadership and communication skills, build meaningful connections and complete mandatory community service hours.

The deadline to apply for 2026 summer camps is Sunday, May 31.

Our festivals and special events bring thousands of people together each year and wouldn’t be possible without the help of volunteers. Have fun, meet new people, earn community hours and make an impact in your community! You can volunteer for a single event or choose the events you would like to volunteer for based on your interests and availability.

Volunteer opportunities for 2026 are now closed. Please stay tuned for opportunities in 2027.

Apply to be a Special Event volunteer

Becoming a volunteer can be personally rewarding and help you to learn new skills or give something back to your community. There are many ways to volunteer at the Woodstock Museum National Historic Site.

How to Become a Volunteer

  1. Submit a completed paper Volunteer Application form available at the front desk.
  2. A staff member will contact you for a volunteer interview when positions are available to:
    • confirm your availability;
    • outline your skills and interests;
    • review volunteer position opportunities and requirements;
    • establish a suitable volunteer placement.
  3. Attend a general volunteer orientation session.
  4. Complete specific training for your placement with an experienced volunteer and/or staff.
