Summer StreetFest

Summer StreetFest returns to Downtown Woodstock on July 17–19, 2026 for a full weekend of shopping, entertainment, food, and community celebration.

Organized by the Downtown Woodstock BIA with support from the City of Woodstock, StreetFest is one of Woodstock’s signature summer traditions, drawing thousands downtown each year for live music, local vendors, family activities, patio experiences and special promotions from businesses.

This year’s event will feature two new initiatives in honour of the City’s 125th anniversary and the BIA’s 50th year. Join us for the Big Fun Friendly Face-Off and 3V3 from Downtown Basketball Tournament!

Big Fun Friendly Face-Off

The Big Fun Friendly Face-Off is a community-driven competition taking place during Summer StreetFest on Saturday, July 17. Designed to bring together businesses, organizations, teams, families and community groups, the event combines friendly competition with downtown energy through a series of interactive games, challenges and activities.

As part of Woodstock’s 125th anniversary and the Downtown Woodstock BIA’s 50th year, the Big Fun Friendly Face-Off aims to create memorable moments, showcase local pride and add another exciting layer to the Summer StreetFest experience.

The Big Fun Friendly Face-Off is open to all kinds of teams and community groups looking to be part of the energy of Summer Streetfest.

Participants may include:

  • Local businesses
  • Community organizations
  • Sports teams and clubs
  • Youth groups
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Sponsors and partners
  • Groups of friends and families

Whether you’re competing for bragging rights, team spirit, community pride or just a good time downtown, the BFF Face-Off is designed to be welcoming, energetic, and accessible to participants of all skill levels.

Teams will compete in a variety of activities and challenges on Saturday, July 17, earning points based on participation, performance, teamwork, and overall spirit. While some events will be more competitive in nature, the overall focus of the Face-Off is community energy, camaraderie, and fun.

Teams may earn points through:

  • Activity wins and placements
  • Team participation
  • Sportsmanship and spirit
  • Crowd engagement
  • Bonus challenge events

Some activities will run as scheduled competitions, while others will remain open throughout the day for ongoing participation and public interaction.

At the conclusion of the weekend, overall standings will be tallied, and prizes, recognition and bragging rights will be awarded to participating teams.

3V3 From Downtown Basketball Tournament

The StreetFest 3V3 From Downtown Basketball Tournament is bringing outdoor basketball to Downtown Woodstock on July 17 – 18, 2026!

Outdoor courts and nets will transform the downtown into a basketball showcase featuring competitive play, youth involvement, community participation, and interactive events throughout the weekend.

As part of Woodstock’s 125th anniversary and the Downtown Woodstock BIA’s 50th year, the tournament is intended to celebrate basketball culture in Woodstock while creating an exciting downtown atmosphere for players, spectators, families, and visitors alike.

In addition to tournament play, the weekend will feature a 3-point contest, bump competitions special feature games, and a few more surprises

Whether you’re competing, spectating, or signing up for contests throughout the day, the tournament is designed to showcase the energy, camaraderie and passion surrounding basketball in Woodstock.

Elementary Division

  • Designed for elementary-aged (grade 7/8) players
  • Pool play followed by playoffs
  • Focuses on participation, teamwork, sportsmanship and community fun while giving younger athletes the opportunity to compete in an encouraging and family-friendly atmosphere

High School Division

  • Designed for high school-ages (grade 9 – 12 players)
  • Pool play followed by playoffs
  • Balances competition and community while showcasing the next generation of basketball talent in Woodstock and surrounding areas

Competitive Division

  • Designed for experienced and competitive players, with a limited number of teams
  • Pool play and championship format
  • Stronger competition, elevated intensity and a more serious tournament atmosphere

Divisions will feature pool play, single-elimination playoffs ans guaranteed games before elimination

Teams will compete throughout the weekend, with championship games and featured matchups taking place during peak festival hours.

The tournament will generally follow internationally recognized FIBA 3x3 basketball rules, with select modifications made to fit the event format and outdoor festival environment.

Final rules and tournament operations may be adjusted prior to the event.

Team Composition

  • 3 players on the court at one time
  • Teams may register substitute players
  • Minimum roster requirements apply
  • All players must check in prior to gameplay

Court & Ball

  • Games will be played on half-court setups
  • Standard basketballs will be provided
  • Outdoor courts and nets supplied by the tournament

Scoring

FIBA-style scoring:

  • Shots inside the arc = 1 point
  • Shots behind the arc = 2 points
  • Free throws = 1 point

Game Length

Games will operate using:

  • Running clock
  • Approximate 15-minute games OR
  • First team to a designated point total (21pts)

Final timing structure will depend on division size and scheduling needs.

Possession Rules

  • Possession changes after made baskets
  • Ball must be cleared beyond the arc after rebounds or steals before an offensive attempt
  • Check-ball format used to begin play and restart dead balls

Fouls

  • Team fouls will be tracked
  • Excessive or unsportsmanlike contact may result in:
    • Possession changes
    • Free throws
    • Removal from gameplay
    • Tournament disqualification if necessary
    • Sportsmanship is expected at all times.

Overtime

If a game remains tied at the end of regulation, overtime will be decided using a free-throw shootout format inspired by a soccer penalty shootout.

Overtime format:

  • Teams will alternate free-throw attempts
  • Coaches or teams may select their shooters
  • Each team will receive an equal number of attempts
  • The team with the most made free throws at the end of the round wins

If still tied after the initial round:

  • Sudden-death free throws will begin
  • Teams will continue alternating shots until one team scores and the other misses within the same round

Substitutions

  • Substitutions may occur during dead-ball situations
  • Players must enter and exit safely and clearly

Timeouts

  • Limited timeouts may be permitted
  • Tournament officials reserve the right to keep gameplay moving to maintain schedule timing

Officials & Scorekeeping

  • Tournament staff and volunteers will oversee gameplay
  • Officials’ decisions are final
  • Scorekeepers may be used depending on division and court availability

Sportsmanship Policy

This tournament is intended to showcase basketball culture, community, and competition in a positive environment.

Unsportsmanlike behavior toward officials, volunteers, opponents or spectators may result in warnings, technical fouls, removal, or disqualification.

Weather & Scheduling

As this is an outdoor event, schedules may be adjusted in the event of weather concerns or unforeseen circumstances.

Tournament organizers reserve the right to modify schedules, formats, and gameplay timing as needed for the success and safety of the event.

Participants may sign up throughout the day using the on-site whiteboard registration.

The contest will feature:

  • Bracket-style elimination
  • Four shooters competing simultaneously; two shooters per court
  • Timed shooting rounds
  • Winner advances; loser eliminated

Each shooter will compete along with one passer (provided if necessary) and one rebounder (provided if necessary).

Throughout the weekend, players and spectators may also participate in:

  • Bump contests
  • Showcase games
  • Special feature matchups
  • Big Fun Friendly Face-Off crossover activities
