Wading Pool and Splash Pads
Vansittart Park Splash Pad
- Located at Vansittart Avenue Park, between Drew St. and Ingersoll Ave.
- Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Portable washroom will be available during splash pad hours.
Cowan Fields Splash Pad
- Located at Cowan Fields, 1495 Devonshire Ave.
- Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Washrooms will be available during splash pad hours.
Spray & Play Wading Pool
Located at Southside Aquatic Centre, 315 Finkle St., the spray and play wading pool offers hours of fun with spray features and slides in a shallow pool. The wading pool is now closed.
Unfortunately, the wading pool has reached the end of its lifecycle and would require significant investment to be able to stay open safely. Based on recommendations from various studies completed over the past 10+ years, the decision was made to replace the wading pool with the new Finkle Street slash pad.
Finkle Street Splash Pad
Construction is currently underway on the City’s newest (and biggest) splash pad! Located on Finkle Street at the Community Complex, the splash pad will feature defined zones for active, group and calm play. With more than 30 different spray features including a splash bucket, there is something for kids of all ages and abilities to enjoy.
In addition to the splash pad, construction will include an accessible playground that takes into consideration users mobility and sensory needs as well as a shade pavilion for families to get relief from sun or rain.
Construction is expected to be completed this fall.
