Christmas Trees
The City of Woodstock offers a convenient curbside Holiday Tree Collection for one week in the month of January.
Schedule
Christmas tree collection will take place between Jan. 12 – 16, 2026. Be sure to place your trees out before the Monday of collection week and not on your garbage collection day, as most years we are able to complete collection before the week is through.
Make sure your brush doesn't get missed! Use the following form to let us know you will be putting out brush for collection. Submit your name, address, the details of your request and you can even submit a photo. This allows staff to plan an efficient route, making sure nothing gets missed and can get in touch with you if there are any issues with your pick up.
Do's and Don'ts
To ensure your tree is collected, please follow these guidelines:
- Place Christmas trees in a visible area within 1m or 3ft from the curb.
- Place trees out before 7 a.m. the Monday of the collection week.
- Keep trees out of the snow and on top of snow piles.
- Be mindful when there is snow events or blowing snow. Ensure your tree is visible and accessible.
- Don't wrap trees in bags. Trees wrapped in plastic cannot be composted and will not be collected.
- Don't bury trees in snow. Trees need to be visible and easy to access for collection.
- Don't place tress out on your garbage collection day. The Christmas Tree Collection is a special collection service and not part of the regular collection route. Once we have been in your area, we will not be able to double back.
Don’t Want To Wait?
Rather than wait for our collection week, trees may be dropped off at the Yard Waste Depot at 944 James St. and placed in the brush pile. The depot is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
