Will there be changes to the EnviroDepot with the changes to waste collection?
Starting Dec. 31, 2025, household recycling will no longer be accepted at the EnviroDepot. Woodstock residents will still be able to drop off large items, construction materials, electronics and household hazardous waste.
Why can’t people drop off household recycling at the EnviroDepot?
Under the new provincial recycling program, the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, responsibility for providing residential recycling has shifted to producers. Under this new legislation, we are no longer able to collect household recycling.
Why can’t people drop off green bin / organics materials at the EnviroDepot?
The City does not have the regulated authority to accept and process organic material at the EnviroDepot.
Can people drop off household garbage at the EnviroDepot?
The EnviroDepot is a convenience depot intended to help divert waste from the landfill. Residents can either place household garbage at the curb for collection on their collection day, or drop off materials to the Salford Landfill, 384060 Salford Rd, Salford.
Why is Styrofoam no longer accepted at the EnviroDepot?
Styrofoam is included in the acceptable materials for curbside recycling under the new provincial recycling program and can therefore no longer be accepted at the EnviroDepot.
Absolutely no household garbage is accepted at this site. This includes bags of garbage or anything small enough to fit into a garbage bag. If you have loose small items, your load will be rejected.
