Cowan Park Sportsplex: Parking lot construction starts Aug. 31

Construction on the parking lot at Cowan Park Sportsplex will begin on Monday, Aug. 31.

The project includes the addition of new parking spaces, as well as replacement of the asphalt surface.

During construction:

• The small parking lot in front of the facility will be closed and accessible parking will not be available.
• The large parking lot on the south side of the facility will be open to the public.
• Visitors can enter the facility through the south stairs leading to the main entrance.
• The main entrance will be open, however the pathway from the parking lot will not be paved and this entrance will not be fully accessible.
• Access to the splash pad will be maintained until it closes for the season.
• Access to the outdoor soccer fields will remain open for the duration of the project.

In addition, the Sportsplex is undergoing replacement of the indoor turf, as well as installation of EV charging stations. The walking track and turf are closed to the public until further notice. The gym and multi-purpose room remain open for drop-in activities, pickleball and recreation programs.
