How Property Taxes are Calculated

Your property taxes help fund the services we deliver, including road maintenance and repair, snow removal and other city services. Your taxes also pay for services delivered by the County of Oxford and education.

Taxes are calculated by multiplying the assessed value of your property by the tax rate set for your property class. There may be further adjustments to the commercial, industrial and multi-residential taxes due to provincial legislation. See our Property Assessment and our Tax Rates and Fees section for more information.

Your final property tax bill is split between:

  • The City of Woodstock
  • The County of Oxford
  • The Provincial Government (education rate).

To avoid any penalties, be sure to pay your property taxes on time (see page: Property Taxes).

Your property taxes are due on the last business day in:

  • May
