The City of Woodstock has been proudly designated as a Bird Friendly City by Nature Canada. Now we need your help in voting for which of the three shortlisted birds you want to see as the City’s official bird.

American Goldfinch

The American Goldfinch is resemblant of the yellow colouring of “Woodstock” the iconic cartoon character from the Peanuts

Black-Capped Chickadee
- a year-round resident of Woodstock
- feeds on seeds, spiders, and insects
The Black-Capped Chickadee is regarded as one of the friendliest bird species

- a regular visitor to bird feeders. Can easily be seen in shrubby areas in parks and along trails
Song Sparrow
- a year-round resident of Woodstock
- feeds on seeds and insects
The Song Sparrow's name evokes a natural connection to music and is suggestive of the famous Woodstock music festival
Where it's been found in Woodstock:
- a regular visitor to bird feeders. Found near water and shrubby areas where they nest
