Paying Taxes

Due to the current Canada Post strike, tax payment by mail is not available. Property owners still have the following options available for paying taxes. The next property tax deadline is Oct. 31, 2025.
Reeve Street Mail Slot
Cheques may be dropped in our secure mail slot located at the Reeve Street entrance (a receipt will be mailed).
Postdated cheques with the payment stubs can also be dropped in our secure mail slot to avoid missing the due date (if you would like a receipt, include the full bill which will be stamped and returned by mail).
Through your Financial Institution
Requires the 15-digit tax roll number found on the tax stub. Please ensure you pay three to four business days before the due date in order for the payment to reach us on time. If you have recently moved, please ensure you are using your new tax roll number.
Internet/Telephone Banking
Requires the 15-digit tax roll number. When selecting your payee please ensure you select the Woodstock, Ontario city tax option and please submit three to four business days before the due date in order for the payment to reach us on time. If you have previously paid this way and have recently moved, your tax roll number will need to be updated.
To avoid penalty and interest charges, please ensure you payment reaches us on or before the due date.
Property Tax Pre-Authorization Payment Plan
Due to the current Canada Post strike, tax payment by mail is not available. Property owners still have several ways to pay taxes including pre-authorized tax payments.
Signing up for Pre-authorized tax payments ensures that your taxes are always paid on time and eliminates the hassle of remembering due dates. The City of Woodstock offers two payment options: Ten installments (Jan - Oct) or Four installments (February, May, August and October). To sign up for a Pre-authorized payment plan, complete the form below and return it to City Hall.
