Parking Permits

Municipal Parking Lot Permit 

The City offers parking lots throughout downtown Woodstock. The following lots offer permit parking:

Digital parking permits are available for our Municipal Parking Lots. Get your permit through the HotSpot Parking Portal or download the HotSpot Parking App available on the App Store. 

Please note that not all municipal parking lots are permit-designated lots. Parking permits are not valid on any street or in any two-hour-only posted lots. You also must adhere to all posted signage, including overnight parking restrictions.

If unable to download the app or access the website, you can submit an application via email or purchase a digital parking permit at our Engineering Department at 944 James St. You can change your plate through the app or website. If unable to access the app or website, visit the Engineering Department to do so.

Fees 

Our permit fees are as follows: 

  • Monthly Parking Permit: $36 plus taxes 
  • Semi-Annual Parking Permit: $180 plus taxes 
  • Annual Parking Permit: $288 plus taxes 

Payment is available by cash, debit or cheque.  

Overnight Municipal Lot Parking Permit 

Residents of downtown Woodstock with no designated parking space can use our municipal parking lots free Monday – Saturday from 6 p.m. - 8 a.m. and all day Sunday. Residents should use these free lots because there is a maximum of 5 hours for street parking. If you need to park your vehicle in our lots between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday – Saturday, you can purchase a parking permit or a pay-and-display ticket.

Please ensure that you are parking on the side of the lot designated for the day when your car will be parked between 2 a.m. - 6 a.m., there are signs denoting what side of the lot to park in.  

The following municipal lots are the only lots where overnight parking is permitted between Dec. 1 - March 31: 

  • Market Centre Lot 
  • Brock Street Lot 
  • Light Street Lot 
  • Adelaide Street East Lot 
  • Cole Walkway Lot

Temporary Overnight Parking Permit 

Residents can apply for a Temporary Overnight Parking Permit if they are unable to access their driveway or for a guest. These permits will last no longer than 14 days per property per season. The permit fee is $5 (including tax) per week and will be waived if the owner can't access their driveway due to public utility or city work. Please note that your application must be approved before parking on the street. 

Temporary Parking for Construction Permit 

Street parking for construction vehicles due to a construction or renovation project in the downtown area can be granted through a Temporary Parking for Construction Permit. The permit allows a contractor's vehicle to be parked or located on the street beyond the 2-hour time restriction. The permit fee is $20 (including tax) per parking space, per week. You can submit your application via email or in person at 944 James St.

  • The permit must be displayed in the vehicle's windshield. Refuse bins do not require a permit to be displayed; however, the contractor must have the permit on hand. 
  • The permit is not valid for use between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. 
  • Temporary construction permits may be cancelled at the discretion of the city engineer should the privilege be abused. 
  • Failure to comply with the conditions will result in the issuance of a parking infraction notice.
