Certified Candidate List Confirmed for 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections

The Clerk of the City of Woodstock has completed the review of all nominations submitted for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections. The candidates who have met the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, have now been officially certified and will appear on Woodstock’s ballots this October.

The certified candidates for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor-County Councillor, City-County Councillor, and City Councillor are as follows:

In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the following individuals have been declared elected by acclamation, having been certified as candidates for offices where the number of candidates did not exceed the number of positions to be filled at the close of nominations.

Thames Valley District School Board Trustee (English Public)

London District Catholic School Board Trustee (English Separate)

Conseil Scolaire Viamonde Trustee (French Public)

As these candidates were acclaimed to office, no vote will be required for those positions, and their names will not appear on the ballot.

No nominations were submitted for Conseil scolaire catholique Providence. An extended nomination period will be in effect between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for this office.

Eligible Woodstock voters will have several opportunities to cast their ballot in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections – online or in-person.

"Municipal elections are one of the most direct ways residents can influence decisions that affect their daily lives," said Jeff Bunn, Returning Officer. "I encourage every eligible elector to learn about the candidates, make an informed choice, and participate in the voting process. Whether voting online, at an advance poll, or on Voting Day, every vote helps shape the future of our community."

Electors may vote online from anywhere using a personal internet-connected device beginning at 10 a.m. on October 10, 2026, with online voting remaining open until 8 p.m. on October 25, 2026.

Electors who prefer to vote in-person may do so at the Advance Poll located at Goff Hall, 381 Finkle Street, on October 10, and October 13 through October 16, 2026, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Voting Day will take place in person only on Monday, October 26, 2026. Voting locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Electors may cast their ballot at any one of the following locations:

• Goff Hall, 381 Finkle Street
• Algonquin Public School, 59 Algonquin Road
• Cowan Sportsplex, 895 Ridgewood Road
• Unifor Hall, 126 Beale Street
