City of Woodstock earns HIGH FIVE® Accreditation for recreation, camp and sports programs
The City of Woodstock is being recognized for delivering exceptional recreation and sport programs for children ages 4 to 12.
The Parks and Recreation department has received accreditation from HIGH FIVE®, a national quality assurance program designed by Parks and Recreation Ontario to support the safety, well-being, and healthy development of children in sport and recreation programs.
Accredited organizations are evaluated based on staff training, program creation and delivery, standard operating procedures and guidelines, and program evaluations.
“Accreditation has been a priority goal of the department for three years, and we have been able to achieve this through our hiring policies, training, camp and recreation programs, creating safe environments and so much more,” said Danielle Ciccarelli, Manager of Cowan Park Sportsplex.
“Each season we strive to deliver high quality camps, drop-in, aquatics, sports, recreation and leadership programs that foster healthy development, lifelong skills and lasting memories for children 4 to 12 years of age.”
Cowan Park Sportsplex is holding a HIGH FIVE® Accreditation Celebration on Friday, Nov. 28 from 2 – 5 p.m. The free drop-in program is open to children, youth and families and will include DIY crafts, turf games, adult pickleball and cookie decorating.
