Bylaw staff conducting winter parking enforcement to assist with snow removal
City of Woodstock bylaw staff are handing out notices advising residents to move vehicles parked on the street to allow for snow removal.
The City’s parking bylaw prohibits vehicles from parking on the street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. from Dec. 1 to March 31. The bylaw also prohibits parking on the street for more than five hours throughout the year.
“These regulations exist to allow road work including snow removal to occur. Woodstock has received a large amount of snow so far this year, and we are asking residents to do their part so that our plow operators can fully clear the streets,” said Stephen Miller, Manager of Bylaw Enforcement.
Vehicles that receive a notice and are not removed will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. No parking signs will also be posted on some streets where snow removal operations are being conducted.
“If your vehicle is towed, you will be liable for all costs associated with the removal and storage of your vehicle and your vehicle will not be released until those costs have been paid,” added Miller.
