Taxes and Property Assessment
The following payment options exist:
- Online/telephone banking-requires the 15-digit tax roll number: When selecting your payee be sure to include the Woodstock, Ontario city tax option. If you have recently moved and previously paid this way, your tax roll number will need to be updated. Please submit 3 to 4 business days before the due date in order for the payment to reach us on time.
- In person at your bank or financial institution: requires the 15-digit tax roll number. If you have recently moved, please ensure you have your tax stub so your tax roll number can be updated. Please ensure you pay 3 to 4 business days before the due date in order for the payment to reach us on time.
- Pre-authorized payment (please complete the online form)
- Drop off in secure mail slot at City Hall: The mail slot can be accessed at Reeve Street entrance of City Hall. A receipt will be provided once the payment has been processed.
- By mail: PO Box 1539, Woodstock, ON N4S 0A7. Please ensure adequate time for delivery and processing.
Please Note: The City of Woodstock is not able to accept e-transfers or credit card payments.

Property Tax User Fees
The charge for a tax certificate is $55. If you require historical information on your property, we charge $15 for each 15 minutes of research. Please visit City Hall to make arrangements for such information and to provide payment.

How Property Taxes are Calculated
Your property taxes help fund the services we deliver, including road maintenance and repair, snow removal and other city services. Your taxes also pay for services delivered by the County of Oxford and education.
Taxes are calculated by multiplying the assessed value of your property by the tax rate set for your property class. There may be further adjustments to the commercial, industrial and multi-residential taxes due to provincial legislation. Your final property tax bill is split between:
- The City of Woodstock
- The County of Oxford
- The Provincial Government (education rate).
To avoid any penalties, be sure to pay your property taxes on time (see page: Property Taxes).
Property Tax Due Dates
Your property taxes are due on the last business day in:
- February
- May
- August
- October

Property Tax Pre-Authorization Payment Plan
Signing up for Pre-authorized tax payments ensures that your taxes are always paid on time and eliminates the hassle of remembering due dates. The City of Woodstock offers two payment options: Ten installments (Jan - Oct) or Four installments (February, May, August and October). To sign up for a Pre-authorized payment plan, complete the form below and return it to City Hall.
