Seasonal Collection

Brush Collection
The City of Woodstock offers curbside brush collection twice per calendar year. Brush must be placed out on the Monday of our collection week and not on your garbage and recycling collection day.
Curbside brush collection will take place:
- Oct. 6 - 10, 2025
New this year - Make sure your brush doesn't get missed! Use the following form to let us know you will be putting out brush for collection. Submit your name, address, the details of your request and you can even submit a photo. This allows staff to plan an efficient route, making sure nothing gets missed and can get in touch with you if there are any issues with your pick up. Please submit your request by April 6.

Please remember to place all items out on Monday prior to each scheduled collection week! If you place these items out after Monday, it will not be picked up and you will need to bring them to the Yard Waste Depot for disposal.
Brush can also be dropped off at the Yard Waste Depot located at 944 James Street. The depot is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Great Pumpkin Rescue
After Halloween, rather than composting or throwing out your unwanted, unpainted pumpkins and squash, drop them off at the City's EnviroDepot. Donations will go directly to local farms as feed for livestock. Pumpkins must be entirely free from contamination by paint, wax, metal or anything sharp.
Other disposal methods
If your pumpkins are not eligible for the Great Pumpkin Rescue (e.g., are painted or rotting), you can:
- Drop them off at our Yard Waste Depot in the yard waste pile.
- Put them in your back yard composter or green cone. Cutting up your pumpkins to smaller pieces will help the composting process, but is not necessary.
If you are not able to compost your pumpkins or bring them to our Yard Waste Depot, you will need to place them in a garbage bag and tag it as household garbage. Please remember the maximum weight for all garbage bags is 44 lbs or 20 kg.
Leaf Collection Program
Residents can visit our leaf collection program page to learn more about their options for getting rid of their leaves each fall.
Christmas Tree Collection
The City of Woodstock offers a convenient curbside tree collection for one week in the month of January. The date for Christmas Tree collection will be posted in fall 2025.
Trees must be placed at the curb before the Monday of our collection week and not on your garbage and recycling collection day. Depending on weather, our staff can usually have all trees picked up before mid week.
Make sure your Christmas tree doesn't get missed! Use the following form to let us know you will be putting out a tree for collection. Submit your name, address, the details of your request and you can even submit a photo. This allows staff to plan an efficient route, making sure nothing gets missed and can get in touch with you if there are any issues with your pick up.
