Seasonal Collection
The Great Pumpkin Rescue
After Halloween, rather than composting or throwing out your unwanted, unpainted pumpkins and squash, drop them off at the City's EnviroDepot. Donations will go directly to local farms as feed for livestock. You can drop off your pumpkins at 944 James St. from Nov. 1 to 9:
- Wednesday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other disposal methods
If your pumpkins are not eligible for the Great Pumpkin Rescue (e.g., are painted or rotting), you can:
- Drop them off at our Yard Waste Depot in the yard waste pile.
- Put them in your back yard composter or green cone. Cutting up your pumpkins to smaller pieces will help the composting process, but is not necessary.
If you are not able to compost your pumpkins or bring them to our Yard Waste Depot, you will need to place them in a garbage bag and tag it as household garbage. Please remember the maximum weight for all garbage bags is 44 lbs or 20 kg.
Leaf Collection Program
Residents can visit our leaf collection program page to learn more about their options for getting rid of their leaves each fall.
Christmas Tree Collection
The City of Woodstock offers a convenient curbside tree collection for one week in the month of January.
Trees must be placed at the curb before the Monday of our collection week and not on your garbage and recycling collection day. Depending on weather, our staff can usually have all trees picked up before mid week.
Curbside collection will take place the week of January 15, 2024.
Please remember to place all items out on Monday prior to each scheduled collection week! If you place these items out after Monday, it will not be picked up and you will need to bring them to the Yard Waste Depot for disposal.
