Holiday Tree Collection

Pine Tree

The City of Woodstock offers a convenient curbside Holiday Tree Collection for one week in the month of January. Trees must be placed at the curb before the Monday of our collection week and not on your garbage and recycling collection day. Depending on weather, our staff can usually have all trees picked up before mid week.

Curbside Schedule begins week of January 9-13, 2023

 Dos
To ensure your tree is collected, please:
  • Place Christmas trees in a visible area within 1m or 3ft from the curb
  • Place trees out before 7 a.m. the Monday of the collection week
  • Keep trees out of the snow and on top of snow piles
  • Be mindful when there is snow events or blowing slow. Keep your tree visible and accessible
 Don'ts

Please:

  • Don't wrap trees in bags. Trees wrapped in plastic cannot be composted and will not be collected.
  • Don't bury trees in snow. Trees need to be visible and easy to access for collection.

  • Don't place trees out on your garbage collection day. The Christmas Tree Collection is a special collection service and not part of the regular collection route. Once we have been in your area, we will not be able to double back.

Don’t Want To Wait?

Rather than wait for our collection week, trees may be dropped off at the Yard Waste Depot at 944 James Street and placed in the brush pile. The depot is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
