Walking Track
Cowan Park Sportsplex has an indoor, three lane walking track that overlooks the soccer turf. The inside lane is about 670 feet long and 710 feet on the outside track. It takes about five laps to do a kilometer and seven laps to do a mile. Enjoy walking on a safe indoor path without worrying about the weather.

Please note that Cowan Park Sportsplex will be closed Sunday, October 13 and Monday, October 14 for Thanksgiving.
The walking track is open during the following times. Please note, the schedule changes seasonally. The walking track is closed on all statutory holidays.

Walking Track Rules and Regulations
- Walking poles are permitted with a rubber base.
- There shall be no unauthorized use of the walking track including spectating.
- Please keep noise level down for the respect of other track users.
- No spitting or pouring of water.
- No pets are permitted (service animals are accepted).
- No equipment, including but not limited to sticks, balls, pucks, mats, free held weights, skipping ropes, etc. which might interfere with the safety of any walker or runner while on the track surface.
- Appropriate and clean indoor footwear must be worn.
- No spiked footwear including track shoes, golf shoes, baseball cleats, etc...
- Absolutely no climbing on, over or leaning against the rails.
- Staff have the authority to restrict public access to the track at any time if the facility occupancy load is met or if it is believed that public safety could be jeopardized.
- Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited obscene language, gestures, or any action that will cause damage to the facility, or any action that will cause harm or disturbance to others.
- We reserve the right to ban track privileges from those who do not adhere to the rules.

How much does it cost to use the walking track? |
You can access to the walking track by paying a drop-in fee or by buying a membership. You can buy a membership for as short as a week or as long as a year. |
What does a membership include? |
With your membership, you get access to the walking track whenever the facility is open. You'll get a City of Woodstock “One Card” and a Walking Track FOB Card. You will need to bring both with you when you come in to use the walking track. The “One Card” tells us who you are and the FOB card unlocks the entrance to the walking track. |
How do I purchase a membership or tickets? |
You can purchase a membership from the front desk of Cowan Park Sportsplex whenever the facility is open. |
How can I renew my membership? |
The front desk can help you renew. It is the same prices listed above. You can renew up to one month before your current walking track expires. |
What if I lose or forget my cards? |
If you forget your cards, no problem! We can look you up in our system by your name. We also have a doorbell at the walking track entrance. We will buzz you in if you ring it. If you need replacement cards, they can be purchased at the front desk. The prices are as follows:

Can I get a refund? |
All refunds must be approved by the facility manager. You can start the process by contacting the front desk. |
Can I transfer my membership? |
Memberships are non-transferable. |
Under what circumstances can I get an extension? |
There are some circumstances where we will give extensions. The main one is building closures to adhere with safety measures. We will also allow them for illness/ injury on a case-by-case basis. The facility manager will have to approve them. We do not give extensions for extended voluntary absences such as vacations. |
When is the walking track open? |
The walking track hours change seasonally. Our current facility hours posted at the front desk, the front doors, and on our website. |
Do you have a spot for warming up/cooling down? |
Yes! We encourage you to do some stretches before and after. We have an area next to the walking track entrance that provides space for warming up and cooling down. Benches, coat hooks, and shoe mats are also available there. |
Do you have changerooms? |
We have changerooms designated to the walking track. Feel free to use them! If they are locked let custodial or front desk know. |
Can I take my kids onto the walking track? |
Yes, kids are allowed on the walking track. However, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can have up to four kids with them at any time on the walking track. Strollers are welcome on the walking track as well! |
Can I use a mobility aid or a walker on the walking track? |
Yes! We have an elevator for your use. |
What if I need a support worker? |
We want the walking track to be accessible to everyone! Your support worker(s) can use the walking track for free when they come in with you. |
Can I eat or drink on the walking track? |
Food and drink are only allowed in the hallways at Cowan Park Sportsplex. Non-breakable water bottles are welcome on the walking track. We have water refill stations on the track, as well as near the walking track changerooms. |
Do you have music playing on the walking track? |
We play 104.7 Heart FM in the facility. Please let us know if its too quiet or too loud on the walking track.
