“I apply the principles of graphic design to my paintings and combine that with the emotional response I get from the natural world outside my door; taking time to observe changing patterns, listening to the creatures inhabiting a space, being aware of the air that surrounds you, so that one feels the spirit or sense of a place. There is more to see in the familiar and everyday if one takes the time to look. The work is derived from walks around and observations of Pittock Lake in Woodstock.”
