“During the times of solitude and reflection created by the global pandemic, I have been exploring in my studio the fundamental nature of painting without plans or goals in mind. Allowing colours, textures and techniques to emerge spontaneously from subconscious origins, I have been experimenting with how painting, and more broadly the act of creation in any form, can tap the same sources of original nature that I have been exploring for many years through my practices of Buddhism and Taoism.”
