“This is the third painting in my graphic monochrome Desk Light series using black and white. As the name suggests I use a desk light to illuminate my mundane subjects so I can capture and emphasize their interesting qualities. The electrical outlet has many dramatic hard edges and planes, but it’s the subtle little curves and soft edges I enjoyed introducing with touches of airbrush.”
