“The subject of my painting is a rock formation. I started with a limited palette laying in oil paint mixed with a cold wax medium and sand. Through a reduction process with a solvent and then scraping down through the different layers, I vigorously worked the surface of the canvas until I arrived at a result that I am happy with.”
