“The subject of this painting was a friend’s horse. I first did a full portrait of her as a gift and then I got a little more close up for this one. I tried to capture her intelligence and regal beauty while keeping it light and dreamy. It is, of course, in watercolours and the colours are fairly neutral except the eye which is the focal point of the painting. She really was an exceptional beauty.”
