After School Program: High School

Ages 13 to 17

This program is led and supervised by professional arts educators and designed as a mentorship opportunity for students interested in learning more about WAG’s student opportunities including the scholarship program, portfolio day and the volunteer program. Scheduled artist talks and demonstrations provide valuable skills such as writing about art, documentation, and the submission process. Explore creativity, self-development and self-expression in an open and safe space. Use this time to do homework, read, catch-up, socialize and get creative. Registration required. Drop-in any time between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

  • Dates: Jan. 24, Feb. 7, Feb. 21, March 6, March 20, April 3, April 17, May 1, May 15
  • Time: 3 – 5:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $6/day

Portrait Study with Charcoal

Ages 13+

In this four-week session, create a portrait study from a photo reference. Arts professional Lindsay Liboiron will guide students through demonstrations and hands-on practice focused on facial feature studies. All registrants will be using the same photo reference. Some experience creating realistic artwork and an understanding of proportion, creating form and smooth blending with charcoal is an asset. Materials list provided upon registration.

  • Dates: Wednesdays, April 3 – 24
  • Time: 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $300 (Members $240)
