Friends of the Woodstock Art Gallery Legacy Scholarship

The Visual Arts Scholarship was established in 1990 as a project of the Friends of the Woodstock Art Gallery. A reserve fund was created in 2018 with the retirement of the Friends of the WAG, renaming it the Friends of the Woodstock Art Gallery Legacy Scholarship.

In order to qualify, students are asked to submit an online application including the following:

  • List of extra-curricular activities, interests and volunteer work (e.g. sports, clubs, community projects etc.)
  • Letter of acceptance from post-secondary institution
  • Letter of recommendation from a community member, excluding family or friends (e.g. art teacher, employer, professional connection, coach, etc.)
  • One page artist statement about your process and interest in pursuing studies in the arts
  • Applicant headshot
  • A maximum of 10 digital images and/or new media files of your artwork. Files must be no larger than 5MB each. Images may be submitted as .jpg, .jpeg, or .png files. New media works must be submitted in .gif format. Files must be labelled: "Student's Last Name_Title of Work" (e.g. Smith_My Artwork)

The deadline for the 2022 scholarship is now closed. Applications for the 2023 scholarship will open in early spring.
