New Impressions: High School Juried Exhibition

This young adult initiative offers high school students in Oxford County the opportunity to take part in a professional juried art show experience. Young artists are guided through every step of the process including artwork submission, professional documentation of work, the jurying procedure, and formal critique from local arts professionals, with awards for Best in Show and Juror’s Choice.

A juried exhibition is a process where artists submit their work to be judged before a panel of experts who blindly evaluate the artwork using a set of specific criteria. Once the jurors examine the works and make their selections, the works are displayed for the pubic to view and celebrate.

New, emerging, and established artists use juried exhibitions to test new concepts, explore new media, connect with like-minded individuals, and receive valuable feedback from arts professionals. A juried exhibition is a great opportunity for artists to build skills but, most importantly, it is meant to be a fun and creative learning experience.
