My second submission is a watercolour painting of a swamp. The watercolour technique of dabbing was crucial for this project, commonly applied for the reflection and tree bushes. I was particularly inspired to some extent by Andrew Wyeth and his use of dark colours during his solitary walks of the countryside. However, compared to my other watercolour paintings, I don't tend to use dark colours. I was also influenced by the Brant Conservation Area, in which my family and I occasionally walk. I believe I was able to give enough contrast to make the trees and castle stand out.
