This piece was an exploratory piece for myself to do some research into Greek mythology. I changed the classic depictions of the mythology to be a more modern, gender-neutral version of Medusa to pertain to today's social norms. I also experimented with a messier, more impressionistic style of painting to match my subject, which is also based on my impression of Greek mythology. I thought that this would give me a good opportunity to broaden my knowledge of other cultures and history, and I plan to continue my research and hopefully come out with a few more pieces like this one
