This piece came from a photo I captured of one of the male green frogs that call our pond their home. Every summer, our ponds teem with tadpoles, and my brother and I spend the summer watching them grow. Our ponds are home to green frogs and Eastern American toads, and it is always a pleasure to see them hopping about and eating the mosquitoes and other pests in our garden. Every late summer there is a “baby frog parade” in our garden as all of the tadpoles with their legs grown in leave the water for the first time.
