Be sweet and wear a crown, 2020
Lino
My artwork is pineapples with a Zebra print background. I decided to do the pineapples because I like them a lot. Also for my sweet sixteen, I want to go to a tropical place (like Hawaii) and eat many pineapples. Then I do not know why I did the Zebra print background; I guess it just looked good. To make mine I started with a plan and then I used a piece of foam and I carved it out with an Exacto knife. At that point, I did not have the idea of the Zebra print yet so I just had my rough draft of the pineapple. Then I did it on my good copy and it was harder to carve it so I ended up having a Zebra print background. The colors I used were black ink for my rough copy and then I used blue and black ink for my good copy and it is a bit symmetrical but I would say that it is a bit off. Then I had my extraordinary piece of art!

Exploration, 2020
Lino
Exploration represents trying new things like using cutting tools to cut lino. The tilt of each corner represents that it doesn't need to turn out 100% to turn out nice. I chose the moon because it's the biggest expedition and exploration of modern history. This art experience was difficult, interesting and fun. This is the first time I have worked in this medium. My usual medium is either pixel art or pencil sketches. I chose to have the moon be the opposite colors to the moon for a nice visual contrast between the two things with the craters of the moon being black and the background white and the stars lacking ink with vast outer space being pure black. I like the fact that although each quarter is the same print they are not symmetrical. I found styrofoam to be substantially more difficult than lino, I would most definitely use this way of creating art work again.

Fly away, 2020
Lino
My work represents how sometimes you just want to fly away to a different place. My inspiration for this piece was inspired by life and how sometimes you just want to fly away. The process of making this piece was fun however I did face some challenges along the way, like when I had to carve into the lino to make the airplanes I found that part to be pretty hard or when I did a bad print and had to restart. The part I enjoyed the most was when we got to use the ink to make the prints I thought it was fun and brought life to the art.
