Lines, 2020
Lino
My design is named “Lines’' because the main part of the design and the part the design revolves around the lines, the creation consists of lines that alternate in and out of the edges of the whole lino also alternating in and out within each line. The design is meant to display the variations of patterns you can create and show, and the variations of lines. But design is not all about the lines if you have an amazing imagination you can see a beach, or even cliff and this is what inspired me, the different types of things you can do with a simple thing is absolutely amazing. I think most people will really enjoy my art piece, but then others might be confused because my art can really only be understood if you have a big and creative imagination. I personally think my design is simple but with a sweet twist for people with an imagination.

Black and white floral, 2020
Lino
My art piece represents a flower fading from blue to black I chose to use two colours because I wanted to show how colour can always fade into darkness and you never really know what someone is going through so you need to treat everyone with kindness. Another reason I chose to do flowers because they have so much beauty and flowers can really tell a story for example, there's beauty in everything but in some you just really have to look for it. I really enjoyed making this project and would love to do something similar again! I had so much fun creating the design although it got extremely frustrating at times trying to carve my design. The carving for the flower petals was difficult because your cuts had to be precise and if you messed up then you would have to start all over again! The first thing I did was find out what I wanted to make, then I made a ruff copy and carved it out , next I did my printing to make sure it worked, I then carved my good copy, lastly I stamped my design and named it! My artwork was not symmetrical, it was imperfectly perfect. That's why I love it so much. It represents beauty. I really hope that when the people of Woodstock see my art piece it reminds them to be who they want to be. I chose to make this art piece to represent that not because of personal reasons because I know bullying is something that happens to too many young people. I want people to really know that there are many kind people in the world and not to go running back to the fake ones.

The Mirrored Sea, 2020
Lino
How did I make The Mirrored Sea? I first made a draft that did not turn out good but then I improved my work and now it's better than it was before. What did I do in my work? I reflected my work twice on two different pieces of paper and those are my complete pieces of art. Why did I make it the way it is? I had heard one of the examples and I wanted to do it. And I liked the reflection of water when you look at it so that's what I did my art on the reflection of water. I had originally had only black ink so I wanted to make it about waste in the water but the art looked better in blue.

Living In the Vines, 2020
Lino
I chose this certain design because it really spoke to me. Ever since I found an interest in growing things and mainly plants, dolphin vines have always been my favourite. To me there's something behind it, it's not just a plant its a representation of growing things just like us were all growing and branching of to be our own person; and just like the actual plant they are all different ,whether it's bigger or smaller, they all have different and unique things about them. I think that represents us as people and that's one thing I always tell myself to be unique and your own person. I thought this design would be great because I love art and I’ve loved art since I could draw, I love to draw in my free time and I think this just symbolizes me succeeding and developing new skills along this amazing journey and how much has come from it. I think this was just a great experience for me.
