Butterfly, 2020
Lino
My piece of art is a dedication to my cousin who passed away last year. My inspiration for my piece of art was how some butterflies are very outgoing. I thought this project was very interesting and cool to make because of all the different colours of ink that we got to use and how challenging it was at times. As a person, I am very loud, creative, cerebral, and obnoxious. When I am working on an art project, I feel in my own world.

Jellyfish party, 2020
Lino
My artwork is called Jellyfish party, it is 4 jellyfish. I decided to call it jellyfish party because it is 4 jellyfish and it is like they are having a party. I chooses to do jellyfish because it reminds me of my family. One time, my family and I went to Ormond Beach Florida for a week. When we went we stayed right on the beach, it was so cool! The whole beach was covered in jellyfish and I thought it was so cool because I love the ocean. My goal is to get everyone to have a chance to go to the ocean and see how beautiful it really is and like it as much as I do. To make my picture, at the beginning, I didn’t really know what to do but then I got the jellyfish idea. I carved the jellyfish onto a piece of foam with an Exacto knife. I started by carving out the inside parts of the jellyfish and it looked bad. Then I carved it a different way on the lino and it looked way better. I used black ink for 3 jellyfish and blue for the other one. I would say it’s symmetrical except for the fact that one of them is blue and that makes it unique. In the end, it looked like a jellyfish party.

Shapes, 2020
Lino
My design Shapes is very unique, I don't have very good artistic abilities and most of my drawings and designs don’t come out very well. I am by far one of the worst at drawing geometric shapes, so I challenged myself to try something I'm not the best at. I also used some things I enjoy such as colors I used, the blue and black those are some of my favorite colors. I wanted to make this piece because my friend Matthew always draws my shapes so I wanted to show him that I’m getting better. My favourite part of the creation process was carving my lino it was lots of fun and I enjoyed the process and would love to do it again. The stamping process was also fun, I got to try out a bunch of different prints and ways I could do my design, it was fun because I had to think of what way I want to rotate the design and were the shapes are going to go. It was fun, it’s my first piece, and I'm very proud of it I hope to have many more pieces and better pieces in the future.

Koala, 2020
Lino
I made this art piece because of all the animals that are dying in Australian fires. So, I decided to make the art piece because of the koalas because it's a thing of the general animals there. 1 billion animals have died so I made my favorite animal in an art piece. My favourite part of this assignment was the printing part because I found it cool how it worked with the paper.
