Museum Rentals

Rental Rates

  • Education Room: $35/hr. (minimum 3 hours)
  • Council Chambers: $35/hr.
  • Additional Staffing Fee: $30/hr. outside of regular business hours (Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

Booking times must include all set-up and takedown time.

Education Room Rental

Capacity:

  • 50 people with tables and chairs
  • 80 standing

Rental includes:

  • Up to 50 chairs and six 6-foot tables are provided (Renter is responsible for set-up)
  • The room and stage are equipped with full production electrical requirements
  • Use of the kitchen downstairs

Limitation:

Stage:

  • The stage is 31.2 feet wide by 16 feet deep. There are open footlights at the front of the stage (which cannot be covered) and the stage is raked
  • The stage may be used by a band or DJ, and for the placement of stationary items, such as speakers, tape/CD players, decorations, etc.

  • Microphone and stand
  • Podium
Council Chambers Rental

Capacity:

  • 25 people standing
  • 15 people seated

Rental includes:

  • Use of the room (wedding ceremonies)

Limitations:

  • No food or beverages or any type of fluid
  • No running or jumping
  • No stiletto heels
  • No pens or marker
  • Please read through the Facility Protection Agreement below 

Chairs:

  • Up to 15 chairs can be set up if required for guests
  • Staff must supervise set-up and an established floor plan must be followed to maintain clear aisles and emergency exits

About the Facility

The entrance to the Woodstock Museum NHS is located on the southeast side of the building. At this entrance you will find the assisted entry (red button) and elevator.

Coat racks and boot trays are located just inside the main floor entrance.

The kitchen and food service areas are on the main floor. The Grand Hall is on the second floor.

A barrier-free washroom, including a baby change table, is located beside the elevator on the second floor (just outside the Grand Hall's south entrance). Additional washrooms are located in the basement

Parking

  • Free 2-hour parking is available Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on all streets surrounding the Museum and Market Centre, as well as in the Finkle Street parking lot located directly south of the Museum.
  • Paid $2 a day parking is available Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the Market Centre parking lot, located on the southeast corner of Reeve and Peel streets.
  • Parking is free after 6 p.m. and all day Sunday.

Facility Protection Agreement

  • All decorations and entertainment equipment are subject to the approval of the Museum Curator. The Municipality shall not be liable for any damage to or loss of property or equipment brought into the facility in conjunction with the function by the Permit Holder or their members, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or any person who attends the function. Please arrange delivery, set-up, and removal times with the Museum Clerk and Rental Coordinator at 519-537-8411 ext. 2901.
  • Displays, floral arrangements, decorations, musical equipment, and so on, must be of a type that will not damage or deface the premises. No nails, tape, glue, or other type of adhesive may be used. No item may rest against or touch woodwork, walls, or stage front. Backdrops must be freestanding. Decorations may be draped over the balcony railing and set on the window sills. You may NOT hang anything from the Exit signs.
  • No open flames (e.g. candles, oil lamps) are allowed, unless they float, or are stabilized, in a container of water, and must be approved by the Rental Coordinator. All pyrotechnics are forbidden.
  • Items such as decorations, display materials, display units, or any other equipment brought in by the Permit Holder for temporary use, shall be removed by the Permit Holder at the end of the event.
  • Do not place anything on the stage that will touch the stencilled fabric panels, or hang over the stage front. Do not place anything on top of or inside the open footlights.
  • Stage Drop Curtain: Do not at any time touch, raise, or lower this Museum artifact. It is very fragile and may only be dealt with by Museum Staff. If you require its position to be changed, you must make arrangements with the Rental Coordinator prior to your rental.
  • Please ensure all skits, plays, etc. are planned accordingly to avoid accidents and injuries. A maximum of 24 children may be on the stage at any one time (standing in three rows, each with eight children). The stage may be accessed from the back or front stairs.
  • Note: The front stairs are narrow, and do not have a railing. If children use these stairs, an adult must be stationed at all times to supervise and assist.
