Handwriting Day Write-In
Thursday, Jan. 23
3:30 – 4:30 p.m., 5 – 6 p.m., 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Can you read your own handwriting? Join us as we try the art of modern and historical handwriting. Practice your cursive or try it for the first time! All materials supplied. Please register before Jan. 21. Parents/caregivers stay with minor children. Great for adults too!

Historic Book Club

Join us for a new book club inspired by the Museum’s exhibits and collection! We’ll be unpacking Mark Sakamoto’s Forgiveness, which examines the effects of WWII on his grandparent’s lives. This selection is inspired by The Suitcase Project, a photo exhibit by Kayla Isomura. Pick up your copy of the book at the museum during open hours and join us Feb. 4 at 6:30pm to discuss! Register in advance online.

Charting New Territory: A Map Making Workshop

Create your own fantasy world with instructor Keziah Hope in this fun, creative map making workshop! You’ll outline your new world and our instructor will lead you through the design process to bring your new territory to life — be it a treasure map, an imaginary island or whatever your mind can conjure. All materials will be supplied.

Join us for a unique topic at the Woodstock Museum followed by a light lunch! A great way to add a little fun to your week. Register in advance to reserve your spot. Discover how a modern Canadian art movement emerged from World War I. The Canadian landscape became a representation of Canadian culture which was in sharp contrast to the ravaged environment of war-torn Europe. Learn from historian Dr. Jason Pankratz about the artists who became the Group of Seven and how they were influenced by their experiences during the war and created a unique Canadian art identity.

Learn to Play Dungeons & Dragons

Are you interested in playing Dungeons & Dragons, but not sure where to start? The Woodstock Museum is offering D&D training sessions for this fantasy tabletop role-playing game. Learn the basic rules and how to create a character, play a game together and learn how to find online and in-person games. A Pizza lunch is included.

Pysanky Egg Dyeing Workshop

Join instructor Dottie Smith as we explore the art of historical Ukrainian egg dyeing in this hands-on adult workshop. The amazingly intricate method of egg decorating is brought back by popular demand! All materials included. Space is limited so register soon for this unique class.

Celebrate the woman who blazed the political trail for Woodstock. Learn about the life and achievements of our first female Mayor by research from Samatha Henderson and compare municipal politics of the era to that of today with Councilor Kate Leatherbarrow and Mayor Jerry Acchione. We’ll look at gender parity in politics, how people locally are making changes and what elections of the past can tell us.
