The Origins of Black History Month

Join local historian Heather Rennalls at the Woodstock Museum to look at how Black History Month came to be founded. Learn about notable Black Canadians that not only helped make February an historically recognized month, but also share the diverse Black History of Ontario and Canada more widely. Have a look at the Woodstock Museum’s permanent exhibit to learn about our own city’s Black History.

Pysanky Egg Dyeing Workshop

Ages 16+

Join instructor Dottie Smith as we explore the art of historical Ukrainian egg dyeing in this hands-on adult workshop. The amazingly intricate method of egg decorating is brought back by popular demand!  All materials included. Space is limited so register soon for this unique class.

Candle Making Workshop

Ages 16+

Looking to learn a new heritage skill? Jodi Roth from Huckleberry Hives will guide you through a variety of candle making types. Hear about her beekeeping experience, how she produces raw and specialty flavoured honey, along with her beautiful beeswax candles. Bring home a mix of dipped candles or candles made with molds.
