Purpose

The Woodstock Public Library Board was established under provincial legislation and is responsible for the management and control of the Library. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Determining and adopting written policies to govern the operation and programs of the library
  • Determining the goals of the library and securing adequate funds to fulfill these goals
  • Understanding the library's programs and the needs of the community in relation to the library
  • Establishing support and participating in planned public relations programs
  • Preparing a budget adequate to carry out the library's goals and objectives and presenting it to municipal council.

Meetings

Committee meetings are held at Woodstock Public Library. The committee meets once a month except in July and August at a regular date and time mutually agreed upon by a majority of the members.
