Bylaw Enforcement


Our bylaw enforcement officers are responsible for ensuring that all of our bylaws are being adhered to and investigating complaints appropriately. Their objective is:

  • to increase public awareness of the City of Woodstock bylaws that presently exist in neighbourhoods
  • facilitate residents to become more familiar with their responsibilities and rights as property owners or tenants
  • achieve compliance with the City of Woodstock bylaws through education in order to preserve the quality of community living, which everyone is entitled to

Making a complaint or reporting an issue

If you believe one of our bylaws has been broken, our bylaw enforcement officers will investigate your claim. Please note, bylaw enforcement officers will not investigate anonymous complaints.  You will be required to provide your name and full contact information.  If you do not want to provide this information, you concerns will not be addressed. Your information will be kept confidential.

To report an complaint you will need to provide us with the following information:

  • Your name, phone number and address
  • Address where the complaint is taking place and detailed information of the concern.
