Accessibility Advisory



The purpose of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is to make recommendations:

  • Relating to the setting of objectives and policies to be followed in connection with accessibility matters within the city
  • Relating to the status of accessibility programs and their relationship to community needs
  • Relating to capital projects
  • Regarding the education of the community in regards to accessibility issues
  • To increase public awareness and understanding of accessibility issues

The committee also:

  • Assists with the preparation of the annual accessibility plan
  • Meets with groups, organizations and individuals interested or involved in accessibility matters to determine concerns or suggestions


Committee meetings are held at Woodstock City Hall. The committee meets the second Wednesday of every month (with the exception of the months of July, August and December).

Requesting a document in an accessible format

If you require municipal information in an accessible format or require communication supports, contact us via email, in person, by telephone, in writing or complete the accessible formats or communication supports request form and submit it to city hall. Arrangements taking specific disabilities into account can be made at no additional cost.

Certificate of Achievement in Accessibility

The "Certificate of Appreciation" award is given to individuals, groups, and agencies (private and public) that have made a significant achievement in reducing or eliminating barriers to persons who have a disability. In addition to receiving a certificate, the recipients' names and a brief description of their achievements would be posted on the City's website and listed in the AccessWoodstock publication. Please complete the Certificate of Achievement in Accessibility Nomination form.

Raising issues

If you have an issue or concern regarding inaccessible municipal services, contact us via email, in person, by telephone, in writing, by filling out the accessibility feedback form or otherwise. We will respond within 7 days of receiving your concern.


Members of the committee remain on the committee for the duration of the current council term of office.

Complete the boards and committees application form and submit it to the clerk's department.
