Posted on Thursday September 08, 2022

Today, we mourn the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with communities around the world.

“Reflecting on her astonishing 70-year reign as Monarch, what stands out is her leadership, her resilience and her dedicated service to the public,” said Acting Mayor Connie Lauder. “I would like to extend condolences on behalf of Council, staff and the citizens of Woodstock to the Royal Family as they grieve the loss of their beloved matriarch.”

To honour the life and passing of Queen Elizabeth the flags at City facilities will fly at half-mast until sunset on the day of her funeral, in accordance with City policy. A book of condolences will be available for community members to sign at the Woodstock Museum, 466 Dundas Street. The Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
