Woodstock’s Newest Playground Now Open
Woodstock – The fences have come down around the City’s newest playground on Finkle Street. The public is welcome to start enjoying the playground, however, the City is encouraging people to use caution. The playground is set on a rubberized surface, which is great for people with mobility challenges and those who use assistive devices. While soft and cushiony in summer, the surface can become hard and slippery when the temperature drops and the snow flies.
The playground includes a variety of different play zones for everyone to explore and play. With climbing structures, slides, sensory features, ramps and independent play areas, users of all abilities can experience the playground.
A large shade pavilion separates the playground from the new splashpad which will open in June of 2025. The splashpad includes a variety of spray features, including a large splash bucket, that both older and younger children will enjoy. Additional site furniture like benches and picnic tables will be installed in the spring. A grand opening is also planned for next spring.
