City’s Engineering and Public Works Office to Close for Renovations
Woodstock, ON – Starting Friday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m., there will be no public access to the City’s Engineering and Public Works offices at 944 James St. Customer service staff will be relocating to the Market Centre, 21 Market St., during the renovation project.
The temporary location will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 30 and the public can access the following:
- Garbage bag tags – also available online through the Oxford County e-store
- Recycling bins, rain barrels and composters
- Transit passes
- Residential water meters
- Paying for parking tickets – also available online
- Building permits – also available online
- General inquiries related to bylaw, building, engineering, public works services
There is plenty of two-hour free on-street parking available, and dedicated 15-minute parking spaces on Market Street for those accessing services. The Market Centre is also conveniently accessible by transit routes #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7.
Meetings or appointments with any other staff will need to be scheduled in advance to arrange an alternate location.
The project will expand office space to accommodate a growing workforce, create accessible washroom space and includes structural and electrical service upgrades. Renovations are expected to take approximately eight months and public access will resume late spring 2025.
